22-31.VII.2010 - STAGE FIRE Dance Project 201o

039

STAGE FIRE Dance Project is a ten-day long summer school of Irish dancing, held in a different form than ever before in Europe.

We have asked six amazing Irish dance instructors who will be responsible for narrating a story from Celtic mythology with their choreographies.

Every day, for more than a week, dancers from all over Europe, of all levels will work on improving their technique, style and stage presentation under the supervision of prominent Irish dancers and teachers, concentrating on choreographies created only and specially for Stage Fire 2010. They will get to know different styles of teaching and artistic visions working with every single one of the pedagogues.

The team of Stage Fire 2010 will be joined by a director and a theater troupe “Release The Hounds” from London. It will also be their task to design costumes and stage set.

Soon, especially selected music group will start working on music put together exceptionally for Stage Fire.

All of that and more in order to create (in 10 days!) the most thrilling dance show seen in this part of Europe so far. A few dozens of dancer from all around the globe, exciting story told by dance, costumes designed in London, beautiful music, hi-tech light effects and a huge professional dance stage – sounds good, doesn’t it? One more thing that should be added – YOU can be a part of it too!

More about the project

087

The project will be entirely devoted to modern, show Irish dancing.
There will be lots and lots of technical exercises as well as new steps and choreographies – however, everything is intended to be more artistic and stage-oriented (choreographies will be of the SHOW DANCE type).

It is a rarely encountered type of dance workshop, which makes the whole concept both attractive and unique, not only in Poland but also in Europe and worldwide!

Apart from learning new steps and choreographies, it will be possible to learn how to use certain steps on the stage, how to match the dancers in a choreography to make it look the most impressive, or how to create interesting choreographies on your own. Thus, the our proposal should be even more attractive for dancers and teachers of various dancing groups.

Moreover, we plan to offer a variety of classes which are not directly connected with Irish dancing but which may help to improve your dancing competences in general, such as fitness, classical dance or yoga.
More details to come in detailed timetable this spring!

Who is this project for?

004

This event is being made for dancers of all levels: from beginner to most advanced. For many of them this will be the only chance to perform on stage in a real dance show and to take part in a theatrical project. We want the grand finale to be organized on the greatest scale possible, so that it will be an extraordinary experience and a memorable adventure for everyone – whether you will be on stage or in the auditorium.

Learning steps as well as choreographies will be accompanied by a special focus on working on the stage presentation and artistic aspects of dance – an important but often neglected element of the training. Hence the presence of the theater director which we hope will make the project more interesting for the dancers and teachers of various performing groups.

At the same time, the workshop will be a great lesson for people who are well familiar with performing on stage. Even the dancers who work with a certified teacher on a regular basis rarely have an opportunity to practice dances different from competitive ones.

This project is also suitable for those who simply want to have fun with dance. It is a summer project after all. Apart from the hard work during classes there will be a plenty of evening parties, sightseeing or fun trips and team games (karaoke, aquapark etc.) in order to get to know one another more and make these ten days even more enjoyable!
